Panic Button
The Panic Button feature in Mirigi gives every resident a quiet, dependable way to summon help the moment something goes wrong. With a single tap, a medical, security or fire emergency is raised inside the same app residents already use for messages, reservations and deliveries — no separate device, no learning curve. Behind that tap is a building-wide response plan that activates instantly, so households know help is already on its way before they have finished explaining what happened. The result is the kind of peace of mind that defines a premium residence.
Mirigi supports fire, security and medical emergencies out of the box, and each building chooses which types to enable and which staff roles receive each alert — security, front desk, management or any custom group. Notification text and staff message templates are localized in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian, so every alert reaches each team member in their working language. To prevent accidental alarms, triggering the button is a two-step action: tap the emergency type, then confirm. Once confirmed, only the resident can cancel the request — until a staff member picks it up, at which point it becomes being handled by that staff member and is locked in for resolution.
For staff, alerts arrive in real time as push notifications with full context: unit, resident, emergency type, and the household’s registered emergency contact. Residents can pre-register a personal emergency contact — a family member, doctor or trusted neighbor — whose details attach automatically to every alert, tailoring the response to each home. As soon as one staff member acknowledges the request, the emergency moves into being handled and the resident sees exactly who is responding — at that point only staff can close it. Like every Mirigi capability, the Panic Button is optional and fully configurable by building administrators.
